New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday celebrated this year’s Diwali with the sailors aboard INS Vikrant. He described this special moment as historic and said that it was a matter of great honor and privilege to celebrate Diwali with them.
Addressing the sailors deployed on INS Vikrant, Prime Minister Modi said that indigenous missile systems like BrahMos and Akash played a vital role during Operation Sindhur. He said that many countries around the world are now showing interest in purchasing these weapons.
Many countries are shocked by the mention of BrahMos.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi said that some people feel a sense of fear when they hear the name BrahMos. He further stated that the current NDA government aims to make India one of the world’s top defense exporters.
The Prime Minister further stated that since 2014, Indian shipyards have built more than 40 warships and submarines. Recalling his experience aboard INS Vikrant, Prime Minister Modi said that the night spent there was difficult to describe in words. He said, “I saw the energy and enthusiasm of all of you. Yesterday I saw you singing patriotic songs and telling the story of Operation Sindhur through your songs—no words can fully describe the experience a soldier feels while standing on the battlefield.”
Prime Minister Modi Praised the Security Forces
Addressing the naval personnel aboard INS Vikrant, Prime Minister Modi wished the soldiers a Happy Diwali. He also praised the bravery and determination of the security forces. The Prime Minister said that it was thanks to these soldiers that the country achieved great success in eliminating Maoist terrorism.
INS Vikrant: A Proof of India’s Self-Reliance
In his address, Prime Minister Modi stated that INS Vikrant is not just a warship, but a symbol of the hard work of 21st-century India. He further stated that INS Vikrant reflects the capabilities of India’s armed forces and is a prominent symbol of a self-reliant India. During Operation Sindhur, INS Vikrant shook Pakistan’s confidence. The Prime Minister further stated that excellent coordination between the three services forced Pakistan to surrender during the operation.
